Good covering oil paints

20.87164.06

Good covering oil paint - intended for use on all outdoor wood surfaces: facades, balconies, windows and shutters, fences, gazebos, garden furniture. Ideal for repainting previously painted (with oil paint) or grayed wooden surfaces.

Advantages

  • Good coverage, silky shine;
  • Based on natural oils;
  • Allows wood to breathe and reduces wood swelling and shrinkage;
  • Water-repellent, highly resistant to weather conditions and UV exposure;
  • The surface does not crack, peel, delaminate or blister;
  • No sanding required;
  • No primer required – simple and even coverage;
  • The dried surface is safe for humans and animals according to EN 71.3;
  • Resistant to saliva and sweat according to DIN 53160;
  • The structure remains noticeable.

Surface preparation

  1. The wood must be clean, dry and not too cold (humidity must not exceed 20%);
  2. Osmo high-coverage paints are ready to use and cannot be tinted additionally;
  3. Mix well with a spatula before use;
  4. Clean the old paint thoroughly. Paint and varnish must be completely removed;
  5. It is recommended to carry out tests before covering the entire surface;
  6. It is recommended to apply the first layer on all sides of the wood, if possible;
  7. To protect the wood from blueing, rot or insects, it is recommended to first treat the wood with Osmo WR impregnator*;
  8. Allow the sealer to dry for 12-24 hours before painting.

Note: We recommend using a dust mask when sanding. Always read the label and information before use. The appearance of the final coat depends greatly on the characteristics of the wood.

Instructions for use

  1. Apply thinly to a clean and dry wood surface along the grain of the wood with an Osmo natural bristle brush or Osmo microfiber roller and spread evenly;
  2. Let dry for 10-12 hours, ensure good ventilation;
  3. Once dry, apply a second layer, also thinly and evenly;
  4. When renovating, one coat on a clean and dry surface is usually sufficient;
  5. It is advisable to clean tools with Osmo thinner and brush cleaner (without aromatic compounds) or with white spirit.

Drying time

Approximately 10-12 hours (under normal conditions, 23o Cir 50% relative humidity). Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity may significantly extend drying time. Good ventilation must be provided throughout the drying period.

Coverage
1 litre covers approximately 26 m2 per coat. The product yield is highly dependent on the characteristics of the wood. All information is given for smooth and planed/sanded wood. Other wood surfaces may reduce the coverage of the product.
