Advantages

• Resistant to dirt, water and abrasion;
• Simple application – no primer or intermediate sanding;

• The coating is resistant to wine, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juice, milk and water according to DIN 68861-1A;

Surface preparation

1. The wood surface must be clean, dry and not frozen (maximum moisture content 18%).
2. Mix very well with a spatula before use. Hardwax oil is ready to use, the product does not need to be diluted.
3. The surface to be coated must be thoroughly cleaned. Old paint and varnish must be completely removed (wear a respirator during sanding).
4. Fill small cracks, joints or holes in the wood (with Osmo Wood Filler). Sand the wood surface carefully.
5. Start with coarse sandpaper – final sanding should be done with P120 – 150.
6. Before oiling the surface, remove sanding dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner. Different wood characteristics may affect the final result, so we recommend performing a test varnishing on a small area, especially on unfamiliar surfaces. Shades may differ from the color shown.

Instructions for use

1. Apply a very thin layer to the wood surface, using a sponge, oil applicator, Easy Pad, metal spatula, roller, brush or polishing machine, depending on the area you are covering.
2. After application, thoroughly wipe off excess oil from the surface with a clean cloth or paper towel. Allow the surface to dry for approximately 8-10 hours, ensuring good ventilation.
3. Apply the second coat thinly, evenly, following the wood grain with a roller or brush and leave to dry (no need to wipe off excess). Use approx. 35 ml/m². The coat dries in approx. 8-10 hours. Ensure good ventilation.
4. Touch-ups can be made within 30 minutes of application. When renovating or re-oiling already oiled surfaces, one coat of oil on a clean and dry surface is usually sufficient. Apply with a roller or brush.
5. After all work is completed, it is advisable to clean the tools with Osmo thinner, brush cleaner (without aromatic compounds) or white spirit.

Drying time

Drying time – approx. 8-10 hours (under normal weather conditions, 23 °C temp. and 50 % relative humidity). Low temperatures and/or higher humidity may extend the drying time. Ensure good ventilation. After 2-3 weeks, the surface is completely dry and hardened. Oiled surfaces should be wet cleaned only after 3 weeks. Carpets should be laid after 2 weeks.

Coverage

1 liter covers approx. 24 m² in one coat. The coverage of the product depends greatly on the type of wood selected and its characteristics. The yield given is calculated for smooth sanded wood.
